In the previous module, we discussed the importance of involving your employees in creating a vision for your practice and letting them shape the future together. The easiest and most efficient way to do this is to hold a staff meeting.
You’ll find that several of our VetLead courses recommend holding meetings as a way to start doing things like eliminating conflict in your practice. We understand that meetings require a large investment. They can be expensive, take time away from seeing patients, and often mean that you’re paying extra for people to come in on days off or sometimes even paying overtime. Because of this, we never recommend holding them unless the value outweighs the cost. Meetings that focus on collaboration, discussion, and practice, can be invaluable catalysts for change and they’re worth the time and effort.
In the final module of this course, we’ve provided you with a video you can play during your staff meeting to walk your team through all of the steps needed to create a collaborative vision for your practice. In the following modules we provide you with a high-level overview of the information covered in that video; tips you can follow to schedule, prepare for, and conduct this meeting successfully; and information you can use to sustain progress towards achieving the goals outlined during the meeting once the meeting itself is over. In short, we’ve provided you with everything you need to create a collaborative vision for your practice and your team and to use that vision to start making real change in your practice.
Let’s discuss this information, starting with what’s in the video you’ll play during the meeting.
